The Electrical Wiring Professional Certificate is issued to qualified personnel certified to undertake safe electrical wiring in accordance with the Electrical Wiring Regulation, 2011, (L.I.2008).
FALSIFICATION IN FILLING OUT THIS APPLICATION IS SUFFICIENT CAUSE FOR REFUSAL TO ISSUE A REGISTRATION.
Certification Process
There are 2 classes of certification:
1. Certified Electrical Wiring Professional (CEWP)
Domestic Electrical , Commercial Electrical and Industrial Electrical

2. Certified Inspectors

  • Certified Electrical Wiring Inspector (CEWI)
    inspection and auditing new and existing wiring of buildings and installations in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Electrical Wiring Regulations 2011, L.I. 2008.
  • Certified Electrical Wiring Professional (CEWP-I)
    Inspection and Testing of New Facilities for Service Connection in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Electrical Wiring Regulations 2011, L.I. 2008. limited only to Existing CEWPs.
Syllabus

The Energy Commission engaged the Technical Education Unit (TEU) of the Ghana Education Service to produce a curriculum for the examination and certification of electricians. The curriculum for the examination is complete and is available for purchase at 70.00 at the Energy Commission’s Office.

Certified Electrical wiring professional- Inspectors(CEWPI) Inspection and testing of new facilities for service connection. For Already existing CEWPs
PLEASE NOTE:
  • The Examination will be conducted in English
  • schools accredited by the energy commission run pre –examination training programs
  • syllabus is available at the energy commission at 70.00 only.
  • candidates should come along with examination materials (pens,pencils,calculator, etc)
  • written examination will include electrical wiring drawings (diagrams).
  • no mobile phones are allowed during the examination.
  • candidates are also advised to purchase and read l.i.2008 (available at assembly press)
